Filming in Jinhua, china with Avaar and costco
When we partnered with Avaar on their “Go Monster” Utility Cart video our team at Outer Lane Studio knew this would be a fun shoot. The clients main concern in this shoot was to highlight the carts new and upgraded tired over a multitude of environments. To make that possible we left Shanghai and traveled to Jinhua where we could capture a variety of terrains in a single day.
Our shoot began at sunrise and stretched all the way to sunset. The goal was to highlight the cart’s performance across three unique environments — rocky terrain, tall grass and sand. The client especially loved the idea of creating a seamless transition between these scenes showing the same tires rolling from one surface to the next. This creative direction became a central focus of the shoot and guided how we structured each shot.
By the time the sun set in Jinhua we had gathered the complete set of footage needed to tell the story. The transition between the three terrains became a defining element of the final video a direct reflection of the client’s original concept brought to life through teamwork and planning.
For the team at Outer Lane Studio the project was also a refreshing change of pace. Stepping away from Shanghai for the day gave us the chance to work in a quieter setting enjoy the natural surroundings and capture a project that felt both challenging and rewarding.
